FAQs

Is each Color Factory location the same?

Each location includes a unique mix of site-specific installations, fan favorites, collaborations with artists and creatives, and partnerships with local nonprofits and small businesses we love.

How long does it take to go through Color Factory?

It varies for each guest, but visits usually last about 1 hour to 1.5 hours. You can extend your experience beyond Color Factory with our free Color Map, available digitally at the end of your visit. Our map guides you through the city to discover even more colorful surprises in your favorite neighborhoods.

Is the exhibit self-guided?

Yes! And, you can take your time going through each room. However, we ask that you don’t revisit any areas you’ve already passed through. (One-way only!)

What should I bring?

Along with your curiosity about color, you must bring your ticket QR code (and someone 16 years old or older, if you are under 16 years old).

Where should I park?

Color Factory Chicago Parking: Discounted parking is available at Traders Self-Park (326 S. Wells / 329 S. Franklin) and Tower Self-Park Garage (211 W. Adams / 241 S. Franklin). Validation is available at Coat Check in Color Factory’s lobby.

Please follow all parking garage signage and use the self park option which is located on the 2nd floor and above. We do not validate parking. If you choose not to utilize this option, please read local parking signage closely. Color Factory is not responsible for towed vehicles.

How do I get my Color Factory photos?

First, double check that you’ve registered your QR code. If you still have it from your visit, scan the QR with your phone camera and complete the registration process. You’ll receive your photos once your registration is complete! If that doesn’t work, be sure to check your spam or junk folder. If you still can’t find your photos, email [email protected] with your name, the location you visited, an image of yourself, the photo card QR Code, and the email address you used to register your card. Unfortunately, employees onsite at our locations are unable to retrieve lost photos.

Contact us through our events page for requests, including using photos for any non-personal or commercial purposes. We’ve integrated photo booth stations throughout our space to give you the ability to put your phone away so that you can fully appreciate the exhibits. Please note: despite our best efforts to keep these cameras & lenses clean, operational, and calibrated correctly, we do experience equipment failure from time to time. We can’t guarantee every photo station’s equipment at any given moment, so if you are worried about getting a particular shot, please make sure to capture it on your personal camera, as well.
